Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong outlined eight major areas where he believes the global financial system still requires significant modernization.
The areas include tokenization, 24/7 trading, stablecoins, AI-powered financial tools, friendlier regulation, broader financial access, and improvements around the concept of sound money.
Armstrong argued that today’s financial infrastructure still relies heavily on outdated and inefficient systems, while blockchain technology and digital assets offer the potential for a faster, more transparent, and globally accessible financial ecosystem.
He also emphasized that the future of finance will increasingly move toward always-on markets powered by AI, crypto infrastructure, and continuously operating digital financial services.
