Ethereum Foundation Launches $1M Security Program Covering Up to 30% of Audit Costs

The Ethereum Foundation introduces a $1 million security initiative to subsidize smart contract audits for blockchain developers across 20+ audit firms.

The Ethereum Foundation has officially launched a new $1 million security support program aimed at strengthening the safety of blockchain applications across its ecosystem.

The initiative is designed to cover up to 30% of smart contract audit costs for developers, lowering the financial barrier to accessing high-quality security reviews. The program will collaborate with more than 20 leading audit firms, providing developers with a broad range of trusted security providers.

This move comes as security remains one of the most critical challenges in the blockchain industry, with vulnerabilities in smart contracts continuing to result in significant financial losses across decentralized platforms.

By subsidizing audit expenses, the Ethereum Foundation aims to encourage best practices in secure development and reduce systemic risks within the ecosystem. The initiative is also expected to accelerate innovation by enabling smaller teams and independent developers to build with stronger security foundations.

The program reflects Ethereum’s ongoing commitment to ecosystem resilience, particularly as decentralized finance (DeFi) and on-chain applications continue to expand globally.
