Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, has praised Tesla's new Roadster, saying it "looks quite amazing" and offering his congratulations to Elon Musk, Tesla's CEO.
The praise comes amid rapid developments in the electric vehicle sector, as Tesla seeks to maintain its lead in the high-performance EV market, while OpenAI continues to expand its footprint in artificial intelligence.
The remark is notable given the historically tense relationship between Altman and Musk. The two were co-founders of OpenAI before parting ways in 2018 over disagreements about the company's direction, and they have since exchanged public criticism on multiple occasions.
Observers suggest the praise may signal a shift in tone between the two tech titans—or at least professional appreciation for technical innovation, regardless of personal disputes.
