Solana topped the decentralized application (dApp) revenue charts in August, generating $143 million – accounting for 38% of total revenue across major blockchain platforms, according to data from DefiLlama.
The strong performance was driven by surging activity in DeFi and memecoin projects, as well as continued momentum from new protocols choosing Solana for its speed and low transaction fees.
Ethereum recorded $100 million in revenue, while **Hyperliquid L1**, **BSC**, **Base**, and **Arbitrum** each posted revenues between $100 million and $105 million – highlighting Solana's clear lead in attracting user activity and liquidity over the past month.
Analysts believe Solana's sustained dominance in app revenues strengthens its position as a formidable competitor to Ethereum in the DeFi space, especially as its ecosystem expands and institutional adoption grows.
