Data from River shows that Strategy Inc. (STRC) has accumulated approximately 77,000 Bitcoin in 2026, roughly 10 times more than the combined purchases of all Bitcoin ETFs during the same period.
In comparison, ETFs recorded net inflows of around 8,000 BTC, indicating relatively slower institutional demand through these vehicles compared to direct corporate accumulation.
The chart also highlights that Strategy’s total holdings (MSTR) have increased by over 142,000 BTC year-to-date, reinforcing its position as the largest corporate holder of Bitcoin globally.
This trend reflects a divergence in investment strategies, with some companies favoring direct asset ownership over indirect exposure through ETF products.
