Vanguard’s S&P 500 ETF (VOO) has made history by becoming the first exchange-traded fund ever to surpass $1 trillion in assets under management (AUM).
The milestone highlights the growing popularity of low-cost index investing, particularly funds tracking the S&P 500, which represents many of the largest U.S. companies.
VOO has now surpassed major competitors such as SPY and IVV, benefiting from strong capital inflows and the sustained growth of the U.S. equity market.
The achievement is widely seen as further evidence of the long-term shift toward passive investing among both retail and institutional investors.
